Abstract：The dark night sky，as an important natural resource crucial to the safety and sustainability of earth ecosystems，is significant fundamental research and ecological conservation.Due to urbanization and urban landscape lighting，the dark night sky is being severely degraded.Theree，in-depth research on the night environment is a necessary means of protecting this resource.Based on Baihuashan National Nature Reserve in the mountainous areas of western Beijing，this study employed astronomical techniques and field measurements of sky brightness to conduct research there.Through rigorous measurements ，detailed sky brightness data of Baihuashan National Nature Reserve were obtained，presenting the current state of the night environment there.The results indicate that the night conditions in Baihuashan are rather good，meeting the basic requirements wildlife conservation research and stargazing tourism development.However，the area also faces potential threats such as encroaching light pollution from surrounding areas.This study can serve as a model the protection of night environment near urban areas，offering significant reference value similar efts elsewhere.
