Abstract：To comprehensively illustrate the spatio-temporal pattern of wildlife trade in China，and provide support and references for wildlife trade management and biodiversity conservation policies both in China and worldwide，based on data from the China Customs Yearbooks from 200O to 2018，this study takes Chinese wildlife encompasing both endangered and non-endangered species and trade concerning theirderivatives as the research object.It analyzes the variation tendency of imports and exports of the overall wildlife and the typical groups，as wellas their national distribution characteristics.The results are as folows ： （1）Between 20OO and 2018，China's total yield of imports and exports of wildlife tends to be on the rise， especially a surge in imports，with major trading relationships with countries in Southeast Asia，Western Europe，and North America.（2） The imports and exports of all groups have experienced significant fluctuations in growth，with notable diffrences bteween them.Generally，the import volumes of marine mammals， reptiles，birds，and wildlife products exceed their export volumes，while primates and amphibians show greater export volumes.（3） The increase in wildlife trade between China and countries inside the area of the Belt and Road outpaces that between China and countries outside the area of the Belt and Road.Yet，the growth rate of wildlife product tarde in countries along the Belt and Road is lower than that incountries outside the area of the Belt and Road.（4） No significant correlation （ P>0.05 ）is found between country's membership of the Belt and Road Initiative and changes in the imports and exports of wildlife and their derivatives.Based on research findings，the challenges and potential threats faced by the wildlife trade management in China and worldwide are discussed，and suggestions are put forward to optimize wildlife trade regulation，enhance wild population monitoring，and strengthen transnational cooperation.
