Effects of Blood Flow Restriction Training on Body Composition,Blood Lipids ,and Blood Glucose in Overweight or Obese Populations: A Meta - Analysis

Abstract: Objective: Compression training is a common rehabilitation training and physical training, a large number of studies have proved that compression training has a certain effect on overweight or obese people. Based on this premise,this article discusses the effects of compression training on body composition,blood lipid and blood glucose in overweight or obese people. Two researchers independently screened the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,evaluated the quality of the literature,and extracted the data. Finally,RevMan5.4 and Stata SE 15.O software were used to analyze the combined effct size,heterogeneity and sensitivity of the extracted data. Results Eight randomized controlled trials involving 223 participants were included. The results of Meta - analysis showed that blood flow restriction training was effective in reducing body mass percentage, fat mass,and blood glucose compared with traditional training. Compresson training had no significant efect on BMI,body weight,cholesterol,triglyceride,low -density lipoprotein, and high - density lipoprotein compared with traditional training. Conclusions Compared with traditional training,compression training shows good effect on reducing fat and blood glucose,and it is reliable and efficient. Overweight and obese people are recommended to exercise in combination with compression training. Subgroup analysis showed that the optimal period of compresson training to improve high - density lipoprotein and low - density lipoprotein was more than 8 weeks.
