Impact and Underlying Mechanisms of Digital Infrastructure Construction on Agricultural Industry Chain Resilience

Abstract: Digital infrastructure construction is the key to accelerating the improvement of the agricultural industry chain resilience.Based on the panel data of 287 prefecture-level cities in China from 2014 to 2021,this study empirically examined the impact and mechanism of digital infrastructure construction on the agricultural industry chain resilience by using the two-way fixed efects model and the dynamic spatial Durbin model. The results show that the digital infrastructure construction can enhance the agricultural industry chain resilience,andits impact effect is heterogeneous due to diferences in city sizes and resource endowment types; The digital infrastructure construction empowers the agricultural industry chain resilience through the development of farmers' human capital,agricultural mechanization,and modern rural industries;The non-equilibrium characteristics of digital infrastructure construction and agricultural industry chain resilience at the city level are gradually strengthening,and will have a certain negative spatial spillver effect on surrounding areas in the short term. Accordingly, it is necessary to rationally layout digital infrastructure and construct a modernized agricultural industrial system during the critical period of economic recovery.
