Cao Yalin has been engaged in contemporary exploration ofdark-red enameled pottery art since the 1980s， followinghis graduation from the Department of Design， Fine ArtsDepartment of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. Since then，he has created many innovative and pioneering moderndark-red enameled pottery works， which effectively embodythe inherent qualities of subtlety， gentleness and simplicityof such material through refined material language.
