Content Analysis and Potential Risk Assessment of Heavy Metal in Compost Made with Kitchen Waste

Abstract:Inordertoanalyzeheavymetalsof thecompostmadewithitchenwaste,representativecompostsampleswerecolected fromfourdiferentproceses,whicharecharacterizedbyhightemperaturecomposting,dyamiccomposting,rapidcompostakingand on-sitecompostreatment.Inthissudyontentofhavymetalssuchssenic,mercuryleadcadmimandchromminopost samples wereanalyzed.The concentrations of As,Hg,Pb,Gdand Cr in all the compost samples ranged from 0.03~4.36 , 0.01~0.78 , 0.00\~26.80,0.00\~2.30, 2.40~124.00mg/kg .The average concentrations of As, Hg ,Pb,Gd and Cr were 1.03,0.27,10.71, 0.71, 28.59mg/kg ,respectively.Theresult reached thestandardof NationalLimit Standards Organic Fertilizer(NY/T525-2021). Singlefactorplutionindexmethod,comprehensivepolutionindexmethodandpotentialeologicalhazardindexmethodwereusedto evaluatetheriskof4typesofsamples,andtheresultsshowedthatheavymetalpolutionwaslessharmful totheenvironment.
