Abstract Objective：To explore the influence of nursing intervention based on risk management on the prognosis and complications of epilepsy patients treated by stereotactic electrode radiofrequency thermocoagulation. Methods： A total of 88 epileptic patients treated by stereotactic electrode radiofrequency thermocoagulation in the department of functional neurosurgery， Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected.The patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group，44 cases each.The patients in observation group received nursing intervention based on risk management.While the patients in control group received routine nursing care. The knowledge awareness of epilepsy， anxiety and depression status， self ‐ management ability， quality of life，and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups after the intervention.Results：After the intervention，the knowledge awareness of epilepsy in the observation group was better than that in the control group. The scores in the anxiety and depression dimensions were lower than those in the control group. The scores in the dimensions of information management， lifestyle， medication management， safety management， seizure management， and the total score of the Chinese version of the Epilepsy Self ‐ Management Scale were all higher than those in the control group.The score of the Quality of Life in Epilepsy‐31（QOLIE ‐31） Scale in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. And the incidence of complications was lower than that in the control group（all P<0.05 ）. Conclusions： The application of nursing intervention based on risk management in the epileptic patients treated by stereotactic electrode radiofrequency thermocoagulation has a significant effect. It could improve the knowledge awareness of epilepsy， relieve the anxiety and depression status of patients， enhance their self‐management ability and quality of life， and reduce the incidence of complications.
