Abstract Objective：To investigate the current status of career aspiration among psychiatric nurses and to explore its influencing factors. Methods：From May to June 2023，totally 634 psychiatric nurses from three third level psychiatric specialized hospitals in Henan province were selected as objects of study by facilitate sampling.The Basic Situation Questionnaire，Career Aspiration Scale，Workplace Violence Frequency Measurement Scale，and Perceived Organizational Support Scale were used to conduct the investigation.Results：The score of Career Aspiration Scale was （12.28±5.80） ）. The career aspirations of psychiatric nurses were negatively correlated with workplace violence（ P<0.001 ）and positively correlated with organizational support（ P<0.001 ）. Linear regression analysis indicated that gender， professional title，workplace violence，and sense of organizational support were the influencing factors for the career ambition of psychiatric nurses（ P<0.05 ）.Conclusions：The career aspiration of psychiatric nurses is lower than the average level.And it is urgent to be further improved.Nursing managers should adopt targeted measures to enhance the sense of organizational support among psychiatric nurses and to reduce workplace violence in order to enhance their career aspiration.
