Abstract

Theundergraduate graduationprojectofTongji Universityin 2O24 focuseson the Yinhang Roadandsurrounding areas in Shanghai New JiangwanCity.Adopting“reshapingcell walls”，a teaching experiment is conducted to transform “roads”into“alleys”inresponse to the lack of vitality in urban spaces in China’s newresidential areas.Basedon the conceptof urbancellsand using densification asa tool，theexperimentrealizes structural reshapingand street constructionandcreates diverse urbanstretspacewith clearshape，friendlyscale，and mixed functions.Thetwo spatial modelsof“street-sidecourtyard”and esky pavilion”inject daily life inmodern residential islands，and also provide reference for China’s new cities’renovation.
