Abstract
Hankouwasanimportantportcityinmodern times,railways,as itsmainmodeexternal transportation,hada pround impactonurban development.Historical maps can be used to analyze the evolution spatial elements,trace the historicaldevelopmentcities,playanimportantroleininheriting historicalcontext.Thisarticleusesdigital translation methods suchasvectorextraction,layerclasification,datacomparisononhistorical mapsdierent timestages,combinedwithotherauxiliarytextualmaterials,torestorethe historicalformHankou City.Basedon the theoryurbanmorphology,therelevantprinciplesdigitalsimulationanalysissuchas kerneldensityintegration degree,GIS, spatialsyntaxareused,aombinationqualitativequantitativeresearch methodsareused to explore the interactive processrailwayurban development.Theevolution process,mechanism,results Hankou City formunder the influence modern railwaysare summarized.
