Abstract:Ecological restoration in desertified regions represents acritical frontier in contemporary ecological research. However, the dynamic relationship between plant community diversity and stability over long-term restoration periods remains poorly understood. This study investigated the characteristics of plant community diversity, stability, and their associations with soil factors across Varying restoration durations in the Mu Us SandyLand. The results indicated that Simpson's diversity index and Pielou's evennessindex increased significantly with increased restoration duration, accompanied by a marked enhancement in community stability.A significantly positive correlation was observed between community stability and Simpson's diversity index, demonstrating that plant diversity exerted a substantial influence on stabilizing community structure.Furthermore, soil organic mater, total nitrogen, and soil water content were identified as key factors governing both plant diversity and community stability. These findings elucidatethe dynamic interdependencies between plant diver sity and ecosystem stability during arid-land restoration, providing a scientific foundation foroptimizing ecological rehabilitation strategies and combating desertification in the Mu Us Sandy Land.
