AbstractObetieTostudyetsofplantigensityoymateracculatiorasatondyieldofdiertyfe varieties,andcarifhesitableplantigdsiyftedieretmaevarietisinortheAu.Method]I4,teieldtrialwas conductedinTaiheCounty,uyangCity,AnhuiProvinc,usingthesem-compactmaizevarietiesLiu16andQiule368,andtecompact maizevarietiesLuyu9dM3astheexpritalmterals,ndtiguiveplatigdensitsof4ooO900 and105Opnts/tadticatodieresofdratecuulaiorefoegyatertaslocatioo tograinofdryatetrasloationndyeldfeingrowhagsResult]Withireaseofsityheoupymae lationcreasdsigicatlyrefowgdatetasloadorbutioofoedyateslocatiotod tendencyofieasindeasigiticeasigitedgigateieasdntlyndompctdeai lylowriskofldgingcomparedwithsem-compactmaizeunderhig-densityplantingconditios.Withtheincreaseofdensi,theberof earsperunitareicased,teumbrofspardeaseddthyeldfirsteasdnddeeadestesfu 9105,MY73,Liyu16,andQiule368were 8923.5kg/hm2(75000plants/hm2) ,9415.9kg/hm²(90000plants/hm²),8112.7kg/hm² (75 000 plants/hm²), 8503.2kg/hm2(75000plants/hm2) ),respectively. According to the quadratic curve relationship between maize yield and density,within 5% of the maximum yielddiference which isnotsignificant,thesuitable planting densities ofLuyu 91O5,MY73,Liyu16, and Qiule 368 in the northern Anhui area are 63600plants/hm2 , 82455plants/hm2 , 49500plants/hm2 and 51315 plants/hm²,respectively, intersfcostsavingandeductionofteiskoflodging.Concusion]Theselectionofcompactmaizevaretisithappropratehigplant ing density is an effective measure to improve maize yield.
