AbstractTo cultivate high quality biological professionals,the learning and teaching status of General Biology course was analyzed,andthecorresponding teaching reforms were carried out.This course is offered inthefirst yearof college,and some studentsconsider their biology foundation tobe average,makingit dificult forthem to keepup with the teaching progress; partof theclasroom teaching methodsarerelativelysingle,withadisconnectbetween theoretical teaching and practical teaching,and students’overall learning interest is not high.Based onthis,targeted teaching reforms are caried out.Basedonthe student-centered teaching philosophy,a knowledge graph is established through theChaoxingLearning Platform,whichhelps students identifyandfillingaps through methodssuchaslearning first and thenlearning; innovate teaching model,implementadual mentorsystemof scientific researchand teaching,and achieve the integrationof“coursecompetition research production”;refactor teaching content,focuson teaching related research on animals,plants,and humans,as well as microbiologyand bioengineering;improve teaching methods by addingquestioning guidance,situational introduction,and classroom discussons toconnectabstract biological knowledgewithpracticalproduction;optimizetheaessmentandevaluationmethods,increasetheproportionof process assessment to 50% ,and increase the assessment of students’self-learning ability,value leadership ability,and other aspects.Practice shows thatthe teaching reform ofthis course hasachieved significant results,with students’learning initiativesignificantly improvedandthe teachingobjectives basicallyachieved.Thisarticleprovides references for similar course teaching reforms.
