Comprehensive evaluation on ornamental value of Erythrina spp. based on analytic hierarchy process

Abstract:【Objective】To laya foundation for thescientific evaluation of the ornamental traits of Erythrina spp. 【Method】Sixten speciesof Erythrina werecolectedandusedasresearchobjects.Twelve indicators were selected using theanalytic hierarchy process(AHP)to construct acomprehensive evaluation system for theornamental value.The ornamentalcharacteristicsofflowerleaf,and planttypeof the16speciesofErythrina wereevaluated.【Result】Among the indicators ofconstraintlayer,flowerornamentation properties had the highest weight,indicating thatflowerornamentation properties werethe most significantornamentalvalueoftheErythrina.Among standardlayer indicators,the weightof the impactofflowerquantity,flowercolor,andflowerexpansionontheornamentalvalueoftheEryhrinaexceededO.1,which hadasignificantimpactonthe evaluationresults.Basedonthe weightof indicators and scoring criteria,acomprehensive evaluation was conductedon the ornamental valueof16species of Erythrina,which were divided into threelevels.Among them,fivespeciesofplants,includingE.crista-galli,Erythrina × bidwillii,E.subumbrans,E.sykesii,and E .strica,had higherornamental value and acomprehensive evaluation was levelI,indicating good prospects forgarden applications. 【Conclusion】Thecomprehensiveevaluationresults oftheornamental valueofErythrina basedon theanalytic hierarchy process can provide references for the application of Erythrina resources in ornamental horticulture.
