Introduction， domestication and applicability evaluation of dyeing rice of wild Vaccinium bracteatum in eastern Fujian province

Abstract：【Objective】The germplasm resources of wild Vacinium bracteatum in theeastern Fujian are abundant. Through introduction，domestication，cultivationand screning，germplasm materials with excelent characteristics have beenobtained，providingahigh-qualitygermplasmmaterials foundationforsubsequentvarietyselectionandbreedingand industrial promotion.【Method】WildV.bracteatum germplasmresources fromeight geographicalsources in theeastern Fujian province were colected.Through introduction，domestication andcultivation，indicators suchas plant survivalrate， morphological characteristicsandagronomic traitswereobservedand measured.Combined with thequalityof black rice （Umi rice）prepared，these germplasm resources was comprehensively evaluated.【Result】Theaverage survival rate of introductionwas84.58%.Underthesamecultivationconditions，there weresignificant diferences inthemorphological characteristics and agronomic traits of wild V.bracteatum germplasm resources from eight geographical sources.Among them，thediferences inleaf size，leaf margin morphology，andthepresenceorabsenceof haircover were particularly significant.From thecomprehensiveevaluationof thequalityof dyed rice，germplasm resources from thetwo germplasm sourcesof Zhouning andFu'an werethebest.Thedyed black rice wasindigoblueand the grains were shiny.Those from Zherong，Fuding and Jiaocheng were second best while those from Luoyuan，Shouning and Xiapuarerelatively poor. 【Conclusion】At present，V.bracteatum is mainlyusedto make blackrice.Itissuggested thatthe two germplasmmaterials of ZhouningandFu'anshouldbepromotedasthepriority，folowedbythegermplasmmaterialsofZherong，Fudingand Jiaocheng.However，thegermplasm materials ofLuoyuan，Shouningand Xiapu should notbe widely promotedandapplied.
