Abstract:The increasing attention tomicropolutants including pharmaceuticals in the environment is driven byadvancements in analytical techniquesand thepotential environmental risks.G protein-coupled receptor(GPCR)account for 40% ofpharmaceutical targets. There are around 7OO GPCR-acting pharmaceuticalswith large consumptions.Wastewater treatment plants are unable to completely remove GPCR-acting pharmaceuticals from sewage, which leadstotheir eventualrelease into aquatic environmentand posing potentialrisks to aquatic organisms. However, only limited GPCR-acting pharmaceuticalsare investigated inthe aquatic environment, andtheir ecological risksto aquaticorganisms remain largely unknown. This review provides a summaryof recent studies on GPCR-acting pharmaceuticals, analyzing their main sources, migration and transformation, methods for analysis and detectio of GPCR-acting pharmaceuticals in the environment, pollution and ecotoxicity, and ofers prospects for future research.
