Abstract：The specialized abilities ofbasketball players have long beena focal pointforscholars both domesticallyand internationall.Inorder toehance theoverallevelof the basketball industry，sportsauthorities invariouscountries havebeen increasing theirinvestment inbasketball projects，activelyorganisingbasketballeventsatallevels，and placing emphasis on the development of youth talent and the construction of talent pipelines.This study is based on core journals indexed byChina National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI），where literatureon "basketball players"and "abilities" was retrieved，and asimilar search was conducted in the core collection ofthe WOS database usingthe term "basketball player".The study then employed Citespace and VOSviewer software for visualisation analysis.The aim is to uncover theresearch hotspots and development trends regarding theabilitiesof basketballplayersbothat homeand abroad.With a focus on the last 5O years of development，the studyexamines the intersection of basketball with psychology，sociologyandotherdisciplines，constructingavisual knowledge networkofbasketballplayerabilities.The researchalsooffersanin-depthanalysisofthecurrentsituationregarding thespecialisedabilitiesofdomesticbasketball players.The fidings provide high-qualityandvaluable theoretical insights to support the future developmentof China's basketball industry.
