Abstract:Due tothe widespreadapplicationsof near-infrared(NIR)light inmedical diagnosis,food inspection,andbiological detection,thedemandforbroadband long-wavelength fluorescent powdersin theNIR-I region hasbecome increasingly urgent.In this work,a seriesof Y2GeO5:Cr4+ (YG :Cr4+ )broadband NIR-Ⅱ phosphors were successfully synthesized via a high-temperature solid-state method.At the optimal Cr doping concentration,the synthesized YG ÷0 .7%Cr4+ NIR- II phosphor exhibited broadband NIR- II emission peaking at1330nm under 469 nmbluelightexcitation,demonstrating an emissionbandwidthof267nminfull-width-athalf-maximum(FWHM).Crystal structure analysis and spectroscopic characterization,combined with low-temperature emission/excitation spectra,confirmed that the broadband NIR-I emission originates fromthe spin-allowed 3T2⟶3A2 transition of Cr4+ ions occupying Ge4+ lattice sites. Additionally,the prepared YG:0. 7%Cr4+ (20 NIR-I phosphor was successfully employed for qualitative detection of water,ethanol,and sunflower seed oil, as well as freshnessassessment of pear slices. These demonstrations highlight the material's promising potential in non-destructive testing applications.
