Preparation and Optical Properties ofMulticolor Fluorescent Sulfur Quantum Dot-cadmium Sulfide Composite Nanoparticles

Abstract:This paper presents a simple and eficient approach for preparing sulfur quantum dots-cadmium sulfide (SQD s -CdS)composite nanoparticles with tunable fluorescence colors.The successul synthesis of SQDs-CdS compositenanoparticleswas verified using various characterization techniques.Byadjusting thereaction temperature andsolutionpH,theemisionwavelengthsof thecompositenanoparticlescanbetunedacrosstheblue-to-orange fluorescencerange,efectively solving the problem of regulating SQDs’fluorescence color.Moreover,compared to pure SQDs,the composite nanoparticles show a 25% enhancement in photostability. Meanwhile,theirphotoluminescence quantum yield increases by 4 .54% relative to CdS quantum dots.Additionally,thanks to their excellent aqueous dispersibility,SQDs-CdS composite nanoparticles can beeasily blended with polyvinylalcohol(PVA)aqueous solution and processedintofilms,yielding polymercompositefilms thatemit fluorescence in various colors.Thus,SQDs-CdS compositenanoparticles hold potential forapplications in fluorescent polymercomposites,opticaldevices,and flexible displays.
