Abstract:The deformed whispering gallery mode(WGM) microcavitycombines the advantages of high quality factorand rich internal mode paths,demonstrating significant research valueinchaoticdynamics,sensingdetection, anddirectional emission.This paper presents a hybrid fabrication method combining traditional hydrogen-oxygen flameheating andcarbon dioxide laser heating.Initialy,two optical fibers were fused and stretched together using hydrogen-oxygen flame heating. Subsequently,secondary fusion stretching was performed through CO 2 laser heating to fabricatea peanut-shaped WGM microcavityarray.Experimentally,we investigated theeffects of stretching distance during flame heating and the spacing between two CO 2 laser heating positions on the dimensions and morphologyof the peanut-shaped cavities.Using atapered fiber coupling,we explored coupling intensities at different angles and confirmed their directional emision characteristics.Furthermore,experiments were conducted using fibers of diferent diametersand hollow glass tubes in combination processing to fabricate peanut-shapedcavities with two lobes of diffrent diameters and singlehollow lobes inanasymmetricconfiguration.Theemisioncharacteristicsof these cavities were simulatedand studied,confirming theuniversalityof thisapproach.This work proposes a simple method for rapid batch fabrication of WGMpeanut-shaped cavities,laying a foundation forresearch and applications of deformed WGM microcavities.
