Numerical simulation study on welding of carbon-manganese low-temperature steel plates for economical liquefied gas carriers

Abstract:Carbon manganese low-temperature steel plate,asalow-temperature steel forliquefied gasships,has good welding performance.The welding processparameters affect the metalographic structure and mechanical properties of the weld metal.Thisarticle takescarbonmanganeselow-temperature stel plate astheresearchobject,anduses manual arc welding (SMAW)and submergedarc welding (SAW) methods to weld thebuttwelded joints ofcarbon manganese lowtemperaturesteelplate,andtestsitsperformanceanalysis.Firstly,thewelding processofcarbonmanganeselow-temperature steel platewaselaboratedindetail,andthewelding processparameterswereetermined.Secondly,anumericalsimulation model forthewelding process ofcarbon manganese low-temperature steel plates wasproposed.The numerical simulation resultsshowthatthe testplatewithaheat inputof18KJ/mhasasmalerlinear energy,andthetemperature fieldshows that the weldseam difusesslowlytobothsides.Thepeak temperatureof the weldseamisalsolower,andthe temperature gradient range is also smaller.
