Determination of carbon content in converter final slag modifier by high-frequency combustion-infrared absorptionmethod

Abstract:This study experimentall investigatedthe optimal determination conditions for measuring carbon content inconverterfinal slag modifierusingthe high-frequency combustion-infraredabsorptionmethod.Through systematic experiments,the carbon content detection method basedon high-frequencycombustion-infrared absorption wasoptimized. During he experiments,the induction furnace power was adjusted to maintain the operating temperature above 1600o C, efctivelyachievingcompletesamplecombustionand ensuring fullreleaseofcarbon.This methodoffers theadvantages of good precisionand highaccuracy.Operationally,thesingledetermination timeisshortened tolessthan3minutes,and complexsamplepretreatmentisunnecessaryfullreflecting itsharacteristicsofhigheficiencyandconvenence.asedon the experimentalresearch,thispaperanalyzedandstudiedthedeterminationoflankvalues,selectionofcalirationreference materials,choiceofsample weight,andselectionoffluxes.Theoptimaldeterminationconditionsformeasuringcarboncontent inconverterfinalslag modifierused inironandsteel enterprises wereestablished,yieldingaccuratemeasurementresults.
