Study on the corrosion resistance of high-strength weathering steel Q55oNHGF

Abstract:This study focuses on high-strength weathering steel Q550NHGF.Through cyclic immersion corosion tests and characterizationmethods suchas SEM,EPMA,XRD,andTEM (HRTEM),thecorrosionresistance of highstrength weatherng steel Q550NHGFwas systematicall investigated.The results indicate that the high-strength weathering steel Q550NHGF exhibits excellent corrosion resistance,with a corrosion rate of only 2.044 g/(m2⋅h) after 72 hours of corrosion. The main corrosion products are α -FeOOH, γ -FeOOH,and Fe304 .As the corrosion time increases,the proportion of α -FeOOHrises.After144hoursoforosion,theustlayerprotectionindex excds1indicating thattheustlayerprovides protection tothesubstrate.ThesynergisticenrichmentofCr,CuandPelements intherustlayer,aswellasthegeneration ofamorphousδ-FeOOH and Cr-doped FeCr2O4 and α -(Fe,Cr)OOH inthe inner rustlayer,significantly enhance the corrosion resistance of Q550NHGF.
