Abstract：As public library services shift focus from children to families，the later become the service targets.The case analysis method is adopted to analyze7 selected representative family engagement spaces of American libraries，and the comparative method is used to analyze site selection，service population，interaction mode and environment. It is concluded thatthe family engagement spaces metthefamily accessibility inthe siteselection，meet the family needs in thecontent，and help thefamily engagement in the environment.Building such spaces requires adhering to the family engagement concept，formulating family engagement policies，highlighting engagement space features，creating parent-child interaction spaces，and seting family interaction goals.
