Abstract：This paper proposes that Inteligent Indexing is the innovation andextension of indexing in theeraof LargeLanguage Models（LLMs）.By integratingartificial intellgence techniques with traditional indexing theories， Intellgent Indexingaims tobuild more intelligentandmoreeffcient knowledge organizationandretrieval systems.At itscore，Intellgent Indexingcombines thetraditional indexingprincipleof“findability”withartificial intelligence’scapabilityfor“understanding”，transforming indexing from a mere information-locating tool intoabridge connectinghuman cognitionwith digital knowledge.This paperelaborates three key featuresof intellgent index：semantic unitization，which transcends traditional indexing boundaries;dynamic ordering，which adapts contentorganization according to user needs;and enhanced findability，which offers comprehensive knowledge asociation and explanation.This paper further analyzes chalenges faced by intellgent index，such as data quality，semantic understanding，and large-scale deployment.It also identifies substantialpotential in realizing“everything can be indexed” andoutlines four key future directions：constructing multi-dimensional knowledge networks，developing dynamicadaptive indexing，offering personalized services，and building inclusive knowledge platforms.
