Development of the Muskmelon Germplasm Bank Information Management System

Abstract：Muskmelon（Cucumis melo L.），valued for its rich nutritional profile，unique flavor，and ability to relieve summer heat and quench thirst，is a popular and indispensable fruit. With numerous varieties available，improving the muskmelon quality has become a key focus in recent years.The improvement is fundamentally linked to the utilization and management of germplasm resources，a critical factor directly influencing breeding innovation and industry development.This study systematically analyzed the challenges in managing muskmelon germplasm resources and developed an inteligent management system. Built on the ThinkPHP + MySQL framework，the system features core functionalities including data storage，resource management，and data visualization，enabling the digital management of the germplasm bank.Implementation demonstrated that this system significantly enhances the management eficiency of muskmelon germplasm resources. It reduced the response time for germplasm resource information inquiry by 90% and increased the data accuracy rate to 99.7% .Currently，the system catalogs 3714 muskmelon germplasm resources nationwide and supports muskmelon breeding programs in Gansu province. The successful implementation of this management system provides a replicable technical solution for managing horticultural crop germplasm resources.It holds significant potential for promoting the high-quality development of China’s muskmelor industry.
