Abstract The“Double Reduction”policy hascreated new opportunities for public libraries to provideafter-school services.Based ona literature review，this paper examines the main practices adopted bypublic libraries at diffrent levels，analyzing theircharacteristics intermsofservice methods，servicevenues，servicecontent，cooperationmodels， andservicevalue.Itidentifieskeychalenges，includingalackofservice diversitylowfrequencyof in-schoolservices， limitedcurriculum innovation，shortages of professional personnel，and constraints inresource integration.Toaress these issues，the paper proposes innovative pathways such as developing distinctive venues，deepening library-school cooperation，optimizingcuriculum design，strengthening talent development，and integratingmulti-partyresources， thereby supporting the effective implementation of the“Double Reduction”policy.
