Evaluation of Patent Transformation Value in Universities： A Case Study of the Biological Industry

Abstract Market-oriented screeing and evaluation of stock patents in universities is an essntial measure to promote thecommercialization of sientificand technological achievementsand support high-qualityeconomic development. Evaluating the transformation value of patents basedon their potential for commercialization helpsuniversities more accuratelyassess theirpatents’latentvalue.Thispaperfirstaims toidentifythe transformationvalueofuniversitypatents byselecting appropriateevaluation indicators.It thenrefines themarketdimension indicatorsand analyzes their effectiveness using patent data from universities inthe strategic emerging industryofthe“biological industry".Finally，a patent value evaluation model is constructed using a CRITIC-TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation method to calculate individual patent transformationscores and identify their transformation value.The empirical results show that the proposedevaluation model efectively identifies the transformation value of patents， with the patent value ranking correlating with the actual market prices，offering valuable insights for universities in screening stock patents.
