Research on the Protection and Renewal Strategy of Multi-scale Urban Mining Heritage

A Case of Jiaozuo City

Abstract：Based on the“dual carbon”goals and the context of urban transformation，this study takes Jiaozuo City as a case to systematically explore the protection and renewal strategies of multi-scale urban mining heritage. By addressing core issues in current mining heritage preservation， such as isolated approaches， singular methods， and the lack of synergy between protection and development， the theoretical and practical paths towards constructing a multi-scale synergistic protection framework of “city-districtindividual building" levels is proposed. At the city scale， integrate fragmented heritage to construct a cultural network that connects elements and forms a coherent historical narrative； at the district level， functional reactivation revitalizes idle space， integrating community needs in facility upgrades，and connect isolated sites to create cultural trails; at the individual building level， implement categorized protection and innovative renewal to balance the characteristics of the heritage with adaptive reuse. Through empirical analyses of Jiaozuo， the study extracts multi-level synergistic conservation pathways， aiming to provide theoretical support and practical references for the sustainable renewal of mining urbanheritage.
