Research on the Definition and Comparative Analysis of Industrial Heritage in Chinese Context

Abstract： Defining industrial heritage not only requires the understanding of the background of its creation，and should also be consistent with the realistic condition of its application area. Agricultural heritage， handcraft heritage， scientific heritage， technological heritage，as well as engineering heritage are related to industrial heritage at different levels. Analysis of the primary contradictions and their specific expressions among different understandings of industrial heritage，and the impact of the aforementioned types of heritages on industrial heritage in Chinese context， can help to assert the concept of Chinese industrial heritage. Chinese industrial heritage should be defined by production as its core feature， characterized by the continuation of use，emphasis on industrial production during the industrialization periods but also includes the closely related handcraft/industry. This definition can help to adapt to the protection and utilization of industrial heritage in China，as well as manifest the historical inheritance and characteristics of Chinese industrial culture. This research on Chinese industrial heritage can also contribute to the understanding of industrial heritage globally.

工业遗产是一类新型遗产，在时间和行业2个维度下存在多种阐释，如以工业革命时期为主体的工业化遗产或工业遗产（heritageofindustrialization或industrialheritage），以工业或第二产业为主体的工业遗产（industrialheritage），以及包含各个产业门类并兼顾工业革命之前阶段的产业遗产（industrialheritage）等。（剩余11631字）
