Research advances in traditional Chinese medicine for treating ischemic stroke by regulating the hypoxia-inducible factor 1α signaling pathway

【Abstractshemicstroke（IS）isadiseasecausedbyinsuffcientbloodndoxygensupplytocerebralvesels，withthemainclinical manifestationsofhemiplegia，sensorydisturbance，aphasia，andataxia.Studieshaveshonthathypoxia-induciblefactorlα（HF1），athecoreregulatoryelementofoxygenhomeostasis，canberapidlyactivatedunderhpoxia/ischemiaconditions，trebyplaing animportantoleinthepathophysiolgyofIS.Inrecentyears，moreandmorearticleshaveshownthatheactivecomponentoftraditionalChinesemedicine，esepatentdugsdcompoudtraditioalesedicieprescptiosantivelylatet HIF- Π1∝α -related signaling pathwayinthe treatmentofIS，but there isnosystematicsummaryonregulationof the HIF-1αsignaling pathwayinthetreatmentofIS.Therefore，thisarticlemainlysummarizes thestructureand physiologicalactivityof HIF- ∇⋅l∝ and its mechanisms ofactioninISandreviewsrelated studiesonChinese medicinemonomersandcompound prescriptions inthetreatmentof IS inthe pastfiveyears inChinaandglobaly.ItispointedoutthattheChinese medicine monomersandcompound prescriptionscan repairbraintissue，allviatebraintissuedamage，andexertaterapeuticefectonISbyregulating theHF-1αpathwaytoprootean giogenesis，inhibitnuroinflmmatioandoxidativestress，promoteenergymetabolism，andrepairblood-brainbarierdamage. 【Key words】hypoxia-inducible factor 1α ;ischemic stroke ;angiogenesis;energy metabolism;blood-brain barrier
