AbstractInChinathediversityandintercoectionoftraditionalselementswitinaeginalscopearekeymaifestatiosofte systematichistoricalandculturalheritageofurbananduralareas.Thereforeregionalresearchontraditionalsetlementshas gradually receivedattentionfrompolicyandresearch fields.Using bibliometric andliteratureanalysis methods，asystematic reviewisconductedon 579 articles in theacademic journaldatabase of China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）， clarifying the Knowledge approachand logical framework of traditional settlementresearch from aregional perspective in China.The study findsthatcurentresearch hotspots fousonspatial distrbution，morphological types，regionalprotection， anddevelopmentassssment.Moreover，newdirectionsforfutureresearchareproposed： in-depth explorationofthevalueof traditionalsetlementsinregionalspace-timecontext，strengtheningthereseachontheurban-ruralcorelationof traditional settements，andexploringregionalcollaborativeprotectionandsustainabledevelopmentpathsfromaresilienceperspective.
