Abstract: Three-tier game model including supplier, manufacturer and remanufacturer was constructed to explore the effects of carbon tax schemes and government subsidy policies on remanufacturing mode choices within supplier-led triadic supply chains. Equilibrium solutions under outsourcing and licensing remanufacturing modes were analyzed and compared in terms of consumer surplus, environmental impact and profit. Results show that outsourcing mode performs better in remanufactured product demand, consumer surplus, and waste product recycling rate. Licensing mode demonstrates superior performance in new product demand and remanufactured product pricing, thereby enabling remanufacturers to achieve higher profits. Implementation of carbon tax and subsidy policies can further reduce environmental impact. A combined policy of carbon tax and subsidy is recommended to promote development of the remanufacturing industry. However, when the carbon tax reaches a certain threshold, applying carbon tax policy alone results in higher consumer surplus. Enterprises can maximize profit under the outsourcing mode.
