Abstract:Adual-band circularly polarized slot antenna basedondefect ground structureis proposed to meet thedemand for multi-band and circular polarization in UAV communication. The 2.4GHz and 5.O GHz band radiation can be achieved by adjustingthesizeoftheL-shapedradiator.Defectdesigniscariedoutontheflor,andtheradiatoriscoupled witha box-shapedfloortoefectivelybroadentheimpedancebandwidth(IBW)oftheantenna.Tworectangularpatchesofdiferentsizes areaddedtothediagonalofthefloortoachievedualbandcircularlypolarizedradiation.Thefloorischamferedtoexpandthe 2.4GHzfrequencybandaxialratiobandwidth(ARBW),andacircularholeisopenedintheupperleftcornerofthefloorto furtherexpandthe5.OGHz frequencybandARBW.Theedgeoftheflooisslottedtofurtherreducetheantennasizeand expand the impedance bandwidth (IBW).Theoptimaloptimized sizeis 60.5mm×60.5 mmx0.8mm.The measurement results showthat theIBWoftheantennais2.12~3.47GHz,its3dBcircularlypolarizedARBWis2.27~2.91GHz,andits peakgains are2.65dBiand2.73dBi,respectively.ThisUAVantennahas theadvantagesofsimplestructure,smallsize,andlowprofile.
