Inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging method for near-space high-speed targets enveloped by plasma sheaths

Abstract:In the processof ISAR (inverse syntheticapertureradar)imaging for high-speed space targets enveloped by plasmasheaths,thevelocity-inducedradarechointra-pulsemovementcancausedistance-dimensional defocusinthe ISAR imagingresults.Inviewofthis,thepaperinvestigatesthereflectioncharacteristicsoftheplasmasheathandthevelocityfield distribution,establishesanchomodelforhig-speedtargetsenvelopedbyplasmasheaths,andrevealsthemechansmbywhich theplasmasheath flowfieldcausesdistance-dimensionaldefocusoftheISARimagingofahigh-spedspace target.Amulticomponent linear frequencymodulation parameter estimation method based on CEEMDAN (complete ensemble empirical mode decompositionwithadaptivenoise)andFRFT(fractionalFouriertransform)isproposedtoobtainthevelocityparametersof the plasmaflowfieldatdiferentpositionsofthetargetsurface.Amatchedfilteringalgorithmwithavelocitycompensationfactoris designedonthebasisof theplasmaflowfieldvelocity toachieveISARimagingforargetsenvelopedbyplasmasheaths.Simulation resultsvalidatetattheproposedmethodisefectiveandcarealiztheISARimagingdistance-dimensionaldefocusingsuppion in the case of the plasma sheath envelope.
