Abstract:Rice is the most important food crop,and is alsooneof themajor sources for grenhousegasemisson.This studyfocusedonthetraditionalandorganicricecultivationinYixingofJiangsuprovinceofChinaastheresearchobject.The functional units were 1kg rice yield and 1hm2 rice area,and the life cycle assessment method was used to calculate the greenhousegasemisionpotentialofgriculturalinputs,landprepaation,transplanting,fieldproductionandarvestingprcese. TheresultsshowedthatthegreenhousegasemissionduringtraditionalricecultivationinYixingofJiangsu provincewas higher than that during organic rice cultivation.Under different functional units, CH4 contributed the most to greenhouse gas emission inboth traditional and organic rice systems.When thefunctional unit was 1kg ofrice,the proportions of CH l4 emissions from the field were 91.82 % and 91.86 % ,respectively.Inaddition, scenario simulation results indicated that compared to returning 100% ofstraw to the field,thepotential for CH4 and N2Oemissions decreased during traditional rice cultivation. The greenhouse gas emission potential of organic rice systemdecreasedastheproportionofcowmanureapplication increased.Theresults inthisstudymayprovideacertainreference basis for carbon accounting in the process of rice planting and rice straw utilization in Jiangsu province.
