Effects of Seaweed Extract and Poly-y-Glutamic Acid on Early Growth of Flue-Cured Tobacco

Abstract: To investigate the effects of seaweed extract (SE) and poly- ⋅γ -glutamic acid (PGA) on the early growth of flue-cured tobacco,ahydroponicexprimentwasconducted withdierentconcentrationsofSE,PGAandtheirixture.Theexpeintused Yunyan87'astetestvriety.eregulatoryeetsofSEandonterowthdevelopmentatioxidanteeactid physiologicalmetabolismoffue-uredtobaosedlings wereevaluatedTeresultssowedthateteatmentwithlowconcetration SE ×3000 dilution)significantly promoted the root growth and biomass accumulation,increased the chlorophyllcontent,and enhancedthephotosyntheticintensityofflue-cured tobaccoattheearlygrowth stage.Meanwhile,itsignificantly increasedthe peroxidase (POD),superoxide dismutase (SOD)andcatalase (CAT)activities ofeaves,thus enhancing the stressresistanceoffluecuredtobaccoattheearlygrowth stage.TheSE+PGAtreatmentshowed strongerrotvitalityandvaryingdegresof increass in photosyntheticeficiencyandantioxidantenzymeactivities.AlthoughSEdemonstratedobviousadvatages inboostingtobaccorowth andantioxidantcapacityGAdpotentialinireasingteetpotosthticateadeaningteantioidantcapacityefutue research willfocusonthecombinedefectofSEandPGonthestressresistanceofflue-curedtobacco,thus providingabasis for establishinganefficient tobaccocultivation system.
