Effects of a New Type of Photon Film on the Growth,Fruit Yield,and Fruit Quality of Pepper Plant

Abstract:This studyaims to explore theapplication effect of photon film on pepper in solar greenhouses.The pepper variety 'Latianxia18'was planted inthe greenouse withtheordinaryPOfilm (control group)orthe photon fim (experimental group).The transmisionspectrumofphotonfmand theefectsofpotonfontegrowth,fruitqualityandfruityieldofpepperplants insolar greenhouses were studied.Theresultsshowedthatcomparedwiththecontrolgroup,theexperimental groupexhibitedincreasesof 2.55% 3.88% and 2.78% inblue light,red-orange light,and far-red light, decreasesof 3.45% and 6.03% in purple light and green light, and increases of 11.98% and 11.57% in PFD value and PPFD value,respectively. The experimental group showed higher plant height, petiole length,eaf tickness,ndADvalueandlowerleafsurfacetemperatureofpepperplants than thecontrolgroup.Attesame time,the photon film treatment increased the fresh weight, dry weight,and yield of pepper fruits by 8.74% 21.99% (P<0.05) ,and 11.19% (P<0.05) ,respectively.Moreover,the spicinessandthetotal amountofcapsaicin substancesshowedno significantdifrence from the control group,and the experimental group had higher content of vitamin C (P<0.05) , soluble protein (P<0.05) , and soluble sugar (P<0.05) in pepper fruits than thecontrol.In summary,the photon filmcan increase the proportionsofblue light,red-orange light,andfarrdlightinereousendtheanduemprovetelghteviontinthegreeousendoote the growth of pepper plants and dry matter accumulation offruits,thereby improving the fruit quality and yield.
