Study on the Preparation and Microwave Regeneration Performance of Activated Carbon/Expanded Graphite Composite

Abstract:Theactivatedcarbon/expanded graphite(AC/EG)compositeadsorptionmaterialwas preparedusingawetmethod,with optimizationofpreparationparameters.MicrowaveheatingwasemployedforcompositeregenerationPhysicalcharacterizationwascon ductedonboththeas-preparedandmicrowave-regeneratedcompositesResultsshowedthattheoptimalpreparationratiowasactivated carbon ∵ expanded graphite ∵ Al(OH) /phosphoric acid solution ∵ chitosan ⟨m⟩m=1.5:1:2:2 .The prepared composite exhibited 3 an adsorption capacity of 212mg/g ,microwave regeneration efficiency of 93.3% ,compressive strength of 2.35N/mm2 ,specific surface area of 829.4486mm2/g ,pore volume of 0.438cm2/g ,and average pore diameter of 2.1126nm After seven regeneration cycles,the specific surface area decreased to 230.4358m2/g ,pore volume reduced to 0.127cm3/g ,while average pore diameter increased to 14.1270nm ,Thecompositesurfacecontainedabundantoxygen-containingfunctional groups includingcarboxyl,lactone,andphenolic hydroxyl groups.
