Abstract:Thisstudy investigatedthebond performancebetweenduplexstainlessteelrebarandtwotypesofconcrete,ordinary concreteandultrahigh performanceconcrete(UHPC),using 17setsof center pull-out tests.Keyparameters including concretestrength grade,rebardiameter,relativecoverthickness,andrelativeanchorage length.Theresultsshow thatordinary concrete specimens failed primarilybyrebar pulout,whereas UHPC specimens exhibited threefailuremodes:rebar pulut, concrete spliting,andrebar fracture.Enhancedbond performance wasobserved with higherconcrete strength grade,larger relativeconcretecover thickness,andlongerrelativeanchoragelength.Under identicalconditions,UHPCdemonstrated significantlysuperiorbondcapacitywithstainlessteelrebarcomparedtoordinaryconcrete,atributabletoisultrahghstrength andsteelfibers thatrestrictlateral expansion.Thus,UHPCexhibitsmarkedlybeterbondbehavior withduplexstainlessteel rebar than ordinary concrete.
