Introduction of LAO Changhui's Experience in Treating Cough Variant Asthma from the View of“Disease with Latent Pathogen Induced by a New Pathogen”

Abstract：This article is to summarize and introduce Professor LAO Changhui's understanding of theoretical connotation "diseasewith latent pathogen induced byanew pathogen"and his clinical experience in treating cough variantasthma from theviewof "disease with latent pathogen induced byanew pathogen"bysyndrome diferentiation. Profesor LAO Changhui believes that recurrent and lingering cough variant asthma is indeed caused by lung cold and spleen deficiency，insecurity of exterior defense，repeat invasionof wind，long-going phlegm-blood stasis hiden in thecolaterals，inductionof latent pathogens bynewly-contracted pathogens which cannot bedispelledoutbyhealthy qi，long-termdetention generated intodiseaseand combinationof theinternalandexternal.Therefore，cough variant asthmahas the attack stageandremission stage，and is treated by stages.It is advocated to scatter wind，release lung andrelievecough at the timeof invasion of both newand old pathogens and struggle between the healthy qi and pathogenic qi and to warm，moistenand release gold and strengthen the vital essence when cough is relieved and the healthy qi is deficient，which can achieve a great curative effect.

老昌辉教授是第五批全国老中医药专家学术经验继承工作指导老师、广东省名中医，从事呼吸系统疾病临床和科研工作近50年，重视地域、体质、情志的致病影响作用，治疗上注重探本求源，谨守病机而治，灵活化裁新方，对咳嗽变异性哮喘的诊治有独到的见解，笔者师从学习，现将老昌辉教授辨治咳嗽变异性哮喘的临床经验总结介绍如下。（剩余9269字）
