Analysis of boron element in pig iron by spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry

Abstract:Inthepellt productionofShougangPeletizing Plant,boronironconcentrateisadded tomeet therequirements of desulfurization andacid production.However,the boron content has a significant impact on the performanceof steel. Therefore,acuratelydetecting the boron elementin pig iron isof great importance.Dueto the inconsistencybetween the detectionrangeofthenational standardandtheactual contentoftheproductionsamples,this paper studies the boron in blastfurnace pig ironusing a spark source atomic emision spectrometer.Through the optimizationof instrument parameters, surface processingof theanalysis,andcorrectionoftheiterferenceofcoexisting elements,theanalysisrangeis expanded, andarapidandaccuratedetection method forboron in pig iron suitable forindustrial sites is successullydeveloped.The method has ben testedfor precision and accuracy and meets the production requirements,and has been appied to guide production inspection.
