A Study on the Deep Integration of Chinese Sportsmanship and Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities

Abstract: As an important component of the Chinese spirit, the Chinese sports spirit not only enriches the connotation of the Chinese spirit but also promotes and enhances it, providing powerful spiritual impetus for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Embodied cognition theory has facilitated the transition of modern education from disembodied cognition to embodied cognition. From the perspective of embodied cognition theory, the deep integration of the Chinese sports spirit and ideological and political education incollegesand universities has its inherent generative logic. The physical body, as the carrier of cognition, enables the embodied shaping of integration; the body, as a medium of emotion, stimulates a wide range of emotional experiences among college students; and identity, as the maintenance of culture,achieves cultural resonance through the recognition of individual, national, and ethnic identities.To explore the path for the deep integration of the two from the perspective of embodied cognition, it is necessary to proceed from different perspectives of embodiment, contextuality, generativity, and interdisciplinarity, in order to consolidate the foundation for integration,enrich strategies for integration,highlight innovations in integration,and achieve the expansion of integration.
