Clinical effect of stellate nerve block therapy combined with traditional acupuncture in the treatment of oculomotor nerve palsy

[Abstract] Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of stellate nerve block therapy combined with traditional acupuncture and stellate nerve block therapy in the treatment of oculomotor nerve palsy. Methods A total of 60 patients with oculomotor nerve palsy from January to November， 2020 in the acupuncture department and inpatient department， ophthalmology clinic and inpatient department of our hospital were randomLy divided into the observation group and the control group， with 30 cases in each group. The control group received stellate nerve block therapy， and the observation group used traditional acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The size of the eye cleft， eye movement， diplopia score， strabismus angle， pupil size， light reflection index， and total efficiency were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.3%（28/30）， which was higher than 66.7%（20/30） of the control group（P<0.05）. After treatment， the size of eye cleft， eye movement， diplopia score， strabismus angle， pupil size and light reflection in the two groups were better than those before treatment（P<0.01）. And after treatment，there was no statistically significant difference between the observation group and the control group（P>0.05）. Conclusion Stellate nerve block therapy combined with traditional acupuncture can promote the recovery of oculomotor nerve palsy， and its curative effect is better than single stellate nerve block therapy.
