Abstract:Inordertoobtain thecharacteristic variablesandextracttypicaldangerscenariosinelectric twowheelerand pedestriancollsionaccidents,273casesof electric two-wheeerand pedestriancolisioncases withvideo information werecollcted from the Internet.Furthermore,13accidentscharacterization variables, suchascollisionspeed,collsionangle,pedestrian'sfirstcollsionpoint,andpedestrian'sfirsttouchdownsite wereanalyzed via using descriptive statistical methods.K-modes method was then used to obtain the typical scenarios byconducting cluster analysis for the 13characteristic variables.Theresults show thatthedriving speed of electric two-wheeler is generally lower than 30km/h and the collision position mostly concentrates inthe frontarea of electric two-wheeler.Electric two-wheelerand pedestriancolisionaccident scenarios can bedivided intofive typical scenarios:verticalcollsionscenario,nighttimesame-directioncollsionscenario, same-directionside-impactscenarios,nightimecolisionscenarioof riders with helmetsandopposite-direction collisionscenario.This studycan provideareference forthe studyof pedestriansafetycountermeasuresand safety test scenarios in electric two-wheeler-pedestrian collisions.
