Abstract:This paper mainlydiscuses the puzleof why individuals show great differences inpolitical trust within homogenous publicopinion contexts.Basedonthe classificationof power legitimacy,media exposure,and context perception,thispaper constructs anew analytical frameworkofpolitical trust,andconducts an empiricaltest with datafrom the20l9 College Student Netizens Survey.Itis found thatbrowsing domestic media information enhances participants’political trust in the two dimensions of procedureand ideology(i.e.,“adhering to the leadershipof theParty”and“trustingdomesticmedia),buthasnosignificantimpactonpoliticalsupportfortheperfomanceegitimacy dimension (i.e.,“trustingthe government").Inaddition,theperceived securityof the external situationsignif icantly affectstheaudience'spoliticaltrustacrossthreedimensions:“adheringtotheleadershipoftheParty”“trustingdomestic media,"and“trustingthe govermment.”Theotherdimensionofcontextperception—thesenseofequality—significantly impacts political trust in the twodimensions of“trustingdomestic media”and“trusting the government,”but has no significant impactontheprocedural legitimacydimensionrelatedto“adhering tothe leadershipof theParty"Finaly the paper discusses the policy implications of this research for political educational practice.
