The Coupling Coordination Degree of Manufacturing Industry Chain Safety and Efficiency under the Dual Carbon Background

Abstract: Under the dual-carbon context of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the manufacturing industry chain,as the main body of high-quality development,needs to achieve coordination and balance between security and efficiency.Based on panel data from 14 sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry from 2O15 to 2O22,this study analyzes the evolutionary diferences in the security, efficiency, and coordinated development level of the industry chain.It incorporates technological innovation,digital transformation,and environmental regulation into theanalytical framework offactors influencing the coordinated level and employs a panel vector autoregression model to empirically analyze the interactive effects of these three factors on the coordinated level. Generalized Method of Moments estimation and Granger-causality tests reveal that thelevel of digital transformation has a significant positive short-term impact on the coordinated development,and there is a lagged long-term positive relationship between environmental regulation and the coordinated level of the industry chain,which is conducive to bridging the gap between security and efficiency.However,technological innovation does not have a significant impact on the coordinated level of the industry chain. Compared with capital-intensive and technologyintensive industries,variance decomposition and impulse-response analyses further indicate that laborintensive industries have a beter coupling coordination degree of security and eficiency,and the positive impact of digital transformation and environmental regulation on the coordinated level is more significant.
