The Study of Digital Technology Empowering High-Quality Development of China's Marine Economy

Abstract： Building upon a solid theoretical foundation， this study conducts an empirical examination of how digital technology drives high-quality development in the marine economy，using panel data from 11 coastal provinces （autonomous regions and municipalities） in China from 2011 to 2O21.The research findings indicate a positive correlation between digital technology and high-quality development of the marine economy. Heterogeneity tests reveal that the promoting effect of digital technology on high-quality development varies by region，with significant positive effects observed in the southern and northern regions，while the eastern region shows a negative impact. Spatial tests demonstrate that digital technology exhibits spatial spillover effects，promoting high-quality development of the marine economy across regions. Threshold tests suggest significant dual-threshold effects in economic development levels，where lower economic development levels correspond to stronger adverse effects of digital technology on highquality development of the marine economy. Therefore，to better leverage digital technology for empowering high-quality development of the marine economy， the article proposes policy recommendations focusing on digital platform construction，regional collaborative linkage，and optimization of the marine industry structure.
