Effects of Different Temperatures on Growth and Development of Megalocaria dilata

AbstractThisstudyamstolarifytheefectsofdiferentemperaturesonthegrowthanddevelopmentofMegalocariadilatatahree treatments of constant temperature at 25% ,alternating temperatures at 25% /30∘C ,and constant temperature at 30% were designed. The developmental duration,pupation rate,emergence rate, malformationrate,and adult body weight were recorded and analyzed. The results showed that compared with the treatment at the constant temperature of 25% ,treatments at alternating temperatures of 25% /30∘C and constant temperature of 30% significantly shortened the larva-adult development stage. Allthe larvae pupated. The emergence rate was 100% .The deformation rate under the treatment at the constant temperature of 30% was 6.67% ,which was significantly higher than that (3.33%) under the treatment at the constant temperature of 25°C or alternating temperatures of 25°C /30∘C .None of pupationrate,emergenceratedeformationrateoradultbodyweighthadsignificantvarationsamongdierenttmperaturetreatments. In conclusion, M. dilatata demonstratesstrongadaptabilitytothe temperatureswithin therange of 25°C to 30% ,and high temperature can accelerate the development without affecting the emergence rate.

十斑大瓢虫(Megalocariadilatata)属鞘翅目瓢虫科,成虫体长 9.0~13.0mm ,虫体基色多为橙黄色至橘红色。(剩余4945字)
