Application ofCarbon Nitride Micron Tube/Polylactic Acid Freshkeeping Film in Photocatalytic Antimicrobial and Freshness Preservation

Abstract:Polylacticacid(PLA)exhibitsexcelent biodegradabilitybutPLAfilmshave thedisadvantagessuchaspoor mechanicalpropertiesandlackofantimicrobialactivity.Inthisstudy,weusePLAas film-formingmatrixandgreen photocatalyst tubularcarbon nitride(TCN)as functionalfillers toprepare composite preservation filmsbysolutioncasting combinedwith thephase transitionmethod.Structural characterizationconfirms thesuccessful fabricationof TCN-PLA films.Mechanical propertiesandgas barierproperties testresultsshowthattheaditionofTCNnearlydoubles thetensile strengthofthefilms,andeffectivelyenhances thegasbarier propertiesand thermalstability.Thefilmmaintainscertain integrityinwaterwhileexhibitingswellingproperties,andtheirdecreasedsurface hydrophilicityisconducivetoinhibit bacterial growthandreproduction.Theantimicrobialexperiments showthatTCN-PLAfilmexhibitsexcelentantimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus,with antimicrobial efficiencies of 99.99% and 91.49% respectively.TCN-PLAfilmexhibitsgood preservation performance,maintaining theweight,firmnessandsoluble solids contentofstrawberies for5days.Theseresultsshowthatthe films havecomprehensive functions,includingstrong thermal stability,good mechanical properties,gas barrier properties,antibacterial effects,and presevationcapabilities.
